At the forefront of the revolution currently sweeping mainstream Indian cinema today, Bohra Bros. is considered to be one of the most avant garde producers of its time, a leader and pioneer of the New Wave cinema in ‘Bollywood’.


Headed by the dynamic and forward-thinking Sunil Bohra, the company has produced some of the most path-breaking, commercially successful independent cinema in India, dramatically altering the face of Indian entertainment. Bohra Bros. enjoys a commercially successful relationship with some of the best names in the Indian film industry and has forged multiple alliances with some of Indian cinema’s leading filmmakers and producers. Film historians and trade pundits grade a large cache of Bohra Bros. films as milestones in Indian Cinema history. Among these include: National Award-winning Shahid directed by Hansal Mehta; Anurag Kashyap-directed National Award-winning Gangs of Wasseypur I and II; critically acclaimed Saheb Bibi Aur Gangster directed by multiple award-winning Tigmanshu Dhulia; critically acclaimed Not A Love Story directed by Ram Gopal Varma; blowout hit Tanu Weds Manu; Shaitan directed by rising Bollywood director Bejoy Nambiar; Ek Hasina Thi to name a few.


Among the films it has successfully distributed include the National Award-winning Chittagong; Kiran Rao’s Dhobi Ghat; Chandra Prakash Dwivedi’s Pinjar; Ram Gopal Varma’s Darna Mana Hai; Sunil Dutt’s Reshma Aur Shera; and Hollywood films such as The League of Extra Ordinary Gentlemen and Unfaithful.
The company has its roots sown deep in cinema having been built on a 60-year cinematic legacy. Founded by the visionary Late Shri Ramji Bohra, Bohra Bros. is as old as the independence of the country. Founded in 1947 Bohra Bros. has to its credit more than 100 feature films in Hindi and other regional languages of India. Some of the films it has produced in its long history include Howrah Express, Al Hilal, Thief of Baghdad, Aurat, Sajan Ka Ghar, Malegaon of Superman among others.


Bohra Bros. has also successfully ventured into television with shows that broke new ground like Face The Review, Mirchi Top 20, Mohalla Mohabbat Wala, Crime and Bollywood and others.


Now, with world consciousness waking up to the power of ‘Bollywood’, Bohra Bros. is making huge strides into the divergent overseas markets with its latest ventures. Bohra Bros. is in advanced stages of negotiations with like-minded MnE companies not only in the vibrant Hollywood market but also the divergent EU. Michael Winterbottom's critically acclaimed Trishna, starring Indian Hollywood beauty Freida Pinto is its first international endeavour.
